Hippocrates’s works range from instrumental and vocal solo pieces to large-scale multimedia and improvisational pieces. Cheng is currently a music student at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), majoring composition under the supervisions of Christopher Coleman, Christopher Keyes, Joyce Tang, and Mike McFerron.

 

Hippocrates has been highly active in recent years. His works were played by a mixed ensemble of 20 musicians and a jazz trio respectively in April 2015. Collegium Musicum Hong Kong premiered his Traces of Silk Road in their concert of the same name in October. The concert also features three more of Cheng’s compositions. Hippocrates composed two improvisational pieces in November for the HKBU Contemporary Music Ensemble. In January 2016, his Gather and Scatter for Chinese orchestra was premiered by the DIO Music Group. His Fragment for mixed ensemble was also selected for the inclusion in Ablaze Records for the new SINFONIA Series CD album recently.

 

Hippocrates also performs actively as a pianist, overtone singer and violist. He currently receives a FTCL in piano recital.

鄭靖楠的作品風格多樣，由器樂、獨唱到大型多媒體或即興作品等多種風格均有創作。他亦曾為交響樂團、室樂團及爵士樂隊譜曲。鄭氏現為香港浸會大學音樂系學生，主修作曲。

鄭氏近年活躍於樂壇，先後有作品由室樂團及爵士樂隊演出。2015年5月舉辦了鋼琴獨奏會，與實時互動視像合作，開拓新的音樂表現形式。香港巴羅克室樂團首演了鄭氏的作品，並在同一場音樂會中首演了鄭氏另外三首作品。鄭氏亦創作了兩首即興音樂予香港浸會大學。最近，鄭氏的《聚散》亦被薈萃國樂會挑選及首演。

鄭氏同時為一鋼琴、中提琴演奏家及呼麥演唱者。
